Why A Different Perspective?

Debra Quelch - Inclusion Specialist & Education Consultant

Founder of A Different Perspective - support for learning

Uniquely qualified to help you.

A Different Perspective - support for learning’ is a response to the gap between education policy and law and practice.

I was meeting increasing numbers of students who were withdrawing from mainstream schools exhausted, anxious, and burnt out, including my own sons.

I began Master’s level studies in Special and Inclusive Education to find that empirical evidence clearly and overwhelmingly supported my observations. Teachers do not have the support to implement inclusion policies and students are overwhelmingly being left behind.

I hope that ‘A Different Perspective - support for learning’ becomes part of the solution.

It is my hope that I can support teachers, families, and community groups to improve knowledge about disability, about removing barriers, and foster an inclusive approach to their places, programmes, and activities.

Please let me know how I can support you.

Debra is an experienced educator, teaching in classroom and distance education settings for over 17 years. She has worked extensively with students who were burnt out, anxious, and falling behind academically after striving to meet the demands of inclusive classrooms.
